This is the exciting new Brilliant 24" mower. This was developed as a result of discussions between me and Shane Cox of Ready Set Mow Ltd. All the working parts of the mower are new, but there is a big cost saving by using a reclaimed Atco Royale chassis which is sand blasted and painted. Thousands of these were made from 1964 to 2011. It was one of their most popular mowers and still exists today as the Allett Buckingham since Allett bought the manufacturing rights. Using a reclaimed frame reduces the cost and the carbon footprint.
The mower has a 12 month warranty and annual servicing by manufacturer, Ready Set Mow Ltd costs £304 including collection and return. Spare parts are widely available and special parts such as gears will be available from RSM Ltd for years to come.
The Brilliant mower is only available from Duncan Hector Turfcare

I now use a Brilliant mower here at the Great Dunham Croquet Club and am delighted with everything about the machine. Speed is adjusted with a control on the handlebar - I like to set it and leave it. This means I get a constant speed without having to fiddle with anything. The clutch is a simple hand lever, after engaging you can take your hand away - there is no need to maintain a constant grip as you do on some machines. The cylinder is engaged using an on/off lever on the side of the machine. Again, no need to faff around with controls on the handle bar. The Brilliant mower is a delight to use, rugged in design and it tows the autosteer seat very easily . The finish at 204 cuts per metre is amazing and equal to any fine turf mower I have come across. The clipping box works well, with a good capacity and the clippings don't fall back . The box is easy to empty, one tip does the trick!
I chose the Lifan engine with electric start. It costs less and spares are half the price of Honda. This engine is identical to the Honda in almost every detail. I already have a Lifan on another machine and I am very happy with it. For £150 extra, you can choose Honda with a manual start - there is an electric start version but Honda charge £310 more for it.
The ATCO Royale B24 is an excellent mower. Mine is now 28 years old, has a trailing seat and still cuts my croquet lawn to 5mm. Using Shane Cox as the engineer, I can now supply used Atco B24 mowers to Croquet Clubs with a full 12 month repair, replace or return guarantee.
The cost is usually between £650 and £950. Trailing seat £150.
B24s can be UPGRADED later and fitted with a 14 blade cylinder, shaver blade and clippping box as supplied on the Brilliant mower. New engines cost from £150 plus fitting
