The Granular Summer Program BioBase Organic Formula 12 6 10 3MgO This is an organic based slow release fertiliser that is applied three times during the summer season, in April, July and August and releases nutrients over an eight-week period. The number of bags per Summer programme are: Half Lawn 3 x 15kg bags Full Lawn 6 x 15kg bags Bowling Green 9 x 15kg bags How it works This organic based fertiliser incorporates a source of nitrogen, potassium, trace elements and significant levels of amino acids. It provides not only the nutrition for growth and root development, but also an organic bio-stimulant effect to encourage germination, establishment and resistance to environmental stress. It contains a natural cocktail of bio-stimulant substances that boost the plant’s ability to cope with stressful conditions including drought, heat and salinity. The bio-stimulant effect encourages the plant growth and stimulates the natural stress response, keeping the sward greener and healthier for longer. The carbohydrates and organics in the fertiliser also stimulate beneficial micro-organisms in the soil. This usually stops thatch build-up thus eliminating the need to scarify. This product doesn't usually reduce existing thatch levels, fit just stops further build-up. To reduce existing thatch you need to use my Thatch-Busting Formula. MgO 3% of Magnesium Oxide is included in the fertiliser to promote photosynthesis and plant health. Slow Release The slow release is accomplished by incorporating longer, more complex molecules which take bacteria longer to break down. This method does not use a polymer coating so doesn't pollute the soil, environment and bird life with microplastics. When to apply? With granular fertilisers, it is always best to apply before rain is expected or irrigate if you can. I usually apply in the evening so that it can settle into the sward overnight. Mowing You can mow before application. After application it is best to mow with the box off until the fertiliser has dispersed so that you don't mow it off the surface with the clippings. Safe to use - The fertiliser is not toxic to humans, pets or wildlife and the croquet lawn can be used immediately after application. Nutrient input The programme inputs the following amounts of nutrition N - 108 kg/hectare P – 23.8 kg/hectare K – 74.7kg/hectare The inputs of P and K are equal to plant demand. Building up phosphates in the soil can lead to an oversupply, which can result in a number of negative environmental effects. One of the main concerns is that excess phosphates can lead to the growth of harmful algae blooms in nearby water bodies. This can lead to a decrease in the oxygen levels in the water, which can harm fish and other aquatic life. Additionally, the overabundance of phosphates can also lead to an increase in weed growth and a decrease in the overall health of the soil. It is important to use phosphates in the soil in moderation to maintain a healthy balance. x
DeliveryDelivery costs are calculated in the cart. Delivery of up to 8 bags costs less if delivered by FedX to a home address. In this case the bags are boxed for easy handling. 9 bags or more are delivered by pallet, usually to the Club.
