My experience
I have been playing croquet for 38 years and it is croquet that caused my interest in sports turf.

For most of that time I have been involved in the maintenance of croquet lawns. With help from the Sports Turf Research Institute in 2005 I was responsible for the creation of two new croquet lawns at Letchworth and the on-going work to bring them up to high quality standards. I am delighted to say that they are now among the best in the country.

Over the years I have gained a lot of knowledge and practical experience and have written many articles on the subject for the Croquet Gazette. I have had in-depth training at the Sports Turf Research Institute in the use of fertilisers for sports turf nutrition and, more recently, received further training on the control of turf diseases and pests as well as irrigation design and installation.

I am a lawn care professional currently advising on more than 100 croquet lawns around the UK . 

In my spare time, I play both Association and Golf Croquet with a handicap of 0 and -1. I am a Master Member of the Institute of Videography, a member of The Magic Circle and I enjoy table tennis, New Age Curling, photography and painting.

I joined The Magic Circle some 45 years ago when I was active on the cabaret circuit as a semi pro.
