Rabbit Runs
To reduce the rabbit run problem it is a good idea to have two settings for each hoop a couple of feet apart (sideways). Clubs often reserve one setting for match play and the other for casual play. Depending on the amount of traffic, these settings will probably have to be moved during the season.
Repair of Rabbit Runs
It is possible to repair rabbit runs either by using a thin screw driver or bradawl. This can be pushed under the rabbit run so that the soil can be lifted up to create a flat surface. This works quite well and even though there may be no grass, the surface can be kept flat with regular attention. Another alternative is to top dress using sand or green waste compost, just enough to keep it flat.
I have heard of some clubs using golf hole cutters to cut out rabbit runs and replace them with fresh turf from a nursery area.
