Irrigation for Croquet Lawns
With a succession of dry summers irrigation has become more and more desirable. I installed irrigation for my own croquet lawn in early 2020 and the lawn played well throughout the season and looked superb as well. Mine is only a small club with 14 members and the cost of water to irrigate for the 2020 season worked out at around £15 per member. Irrigation produces an excellent playing surface with no down time and no drought repairs.
To make it easier for clubs to acquire an irrigation system, I design and supply systems specifically for croquet lawns on a DIY installation basis. The main components of the system are manufactured Rain Bird and supplied to me by the UK distributor Rigby Taylor. Installation is mainly connecting pipes using bolt-on saddles or compression fittings. It is DIY but I won't leave you to do it on your own. I provide a trenching machine free of charge and give on site guidance during the installation (usually 2 to 3 days). That way everything runs smoothly. Electronic controls are usually sited in the club house and require an power socket. If you have WiFi, the system can be controlled remotely from anywhere in the world. Cost guide 1 lawn £3500 to £4000 2 Lawns £5500 to £6000 3 Lawns £7000 to £8000 4 Lawns £8000 to £9000 Prices include all components, tools, loan of trenching machine and my on site guidance and support usually for 2 days. You will need an electrician to provide a power supply for the pump (single phase) and, where necessary a concrete pad will be required for the tank. The pump is submersed in the tank, so a pump house is not required. Please contact me for more information |
